Maintenance, modifications, and supplemental labor support

Project Description
Broad range of maintenance and construction activities for TVA facilities covered by the JV agreement consisting of 20 power dams, 1 pumped storage facility, 17 non-power dams, 10 fossil sites, and 13 natural gas sites. Additionally, Williams Specialty Services executes the system wide coatings program and performs all asbestos and lead abatement within the G.UB.MK Alliance.

Challenges

• The recent maintenance contract award to G.UB.MK resulted in responsibility for maintenance of more TVA assets and G.UB.MK has risen to the new challenge.
• Reduced TVA expenditures has required G.UB.MK to reduce its operating costs while maintaining increased productivity year over year.
• The ever ageing labor force has required G.U.B.MK to work with unions for innovative solutions to maintain qualified labor personnel

• Recognized for decades as a true partner to TVA reflected by successfully securing the contract through numerous re-bids over the years.
• Zero days of extension to planned outages in last 12 years.
• 97% TVA customer satisfaction score in FY 2015
• Zero reportable environmental events in last 9 years
• Three percent (3%) below budget on capital and O&M work in last 5 years.
• Work is covered by TVA owner controlled insurance program and GUBMK has experienced an 80% reduction in OCIP costs to TVA in last 5 years.
• Implemented TVA valley wide SCR reduced emissions program at numerous fossil sites, under budget and on schedule.
